Because the SiC adapter will act as a heat buffer of sorts, you won’t be able to count on the screen for an accurate representation of the quartz's temperature, you’ll want to wait about 4-5 minutes before pulling a fresh tower off the unit. This is part of the trade-off made for the boost in flavor! The other being the fact that extra care will need to be taken when using the SiC adapter, as it gets extremely hot and if you aren’t careful you can pull it out of the heater with your 16mm tower.
If you are using a traditional dab tool, you may find it helpful to ‘hot drop’ your concentrates into the tower, essentially using your dab tool to load the dab into the tower before you’ve pulled it out of the heater (to avoid any temperature loss in the loading process).
